Careline 24 Hours a day
Careline is a 24 hour telephone information and support service for people who care for an older person or a person with a disability or mental health condition.

Carer Support Aged
The Carer Support Program - Aged provides short term support and assistance to aged carers and carers of older people, who are 65 years of age or over. We can help you find the balance between caring for yourself and caring for others.

Carer Support Dementia and Behaviour
The Carer Support Program - Dementia and Behaviour can assist by providing intensive support in the home and community, where the behaviour occurs.

Carer Support Disability
The Carer Support Program - Disability provides short term assistance and support to carers in a parenting role for those with a disability aged less than 65 years.

Carer Support Mental Health
The Carer Support Program - Mental Health provides short term assistance and support to carers of people with a severe mental health condition.

Young carers program
The Young Carers program aims to reduce the risk of young people up to the age of 25 leaving school or vocational education prematurely, due to their caring responsibilities.

Give it a Go, Respite for carers
Give it a Go is a respite program for carers. It provides outings for a group of eight participants who are in the early stages of dementia, and who enjoy social outings.

Individual Respite, respite for carers of older people
Individual respite is tailored to meet the specific needs of those caring for older people living at home. It offers carers with regular and occasional breaks to help them find the balance in their caring role.

Residential Respite Care
Residential respite provides short term breaks for carers and the people they care for. Residential respite allows the person you care for to have a temporary stay in an aged care home.

The Weekenders
The Weekenders is a day activity and respite program to support people with dementia and their carers. The service is for people living in the cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston, Port Phillip and Stonnington.

Mental Health Carer and Family Support Groups, Southern Region
Carer groups offer families, friends and other relatives the opportunity to learn more about mental health condition, to talk to others in similar situations, to share ideas on coping and learn of support services available.

Carers Speak Out: A consultation on community
services with carers in the Southern Metropolitan and Grampians regions of Victoria
The consultation aimed to obtain carers' views on the support available to them from their local community services, to improve the capacity of CAV and regional carer services to support and advocate on behalf of carers, and to empower carers to advocate on their own behalf.
The consultation targeted carers of the frail aged, carers of people with a mental illness, and carers of people with a disability. Over 350 carers participated.

Video - Balance the Care
Balance the Care is a 32 minute video exploring the major issues which affect people who provide care for others. It offers everyone an insight into the situations and emotions that people live with everyday.
The video encourages people in caring roles to look after themselves and to share the care - with family members, service providers and other networks in the community.

Video-Respite Helps You Find The Balance
This video explains what what Respite Care is, how it works and the benefits to both the carer and the person they care for. Whether the person cared for is frail, aged, suffers from dementia, has a mental health condition, is disabled or has a chronic illness, Respite Care is available.
The video is presented by Charles, "Bud", Tingwell, one of Australia's most distinguished actors, who was himself a carer. Other carers tell their stories.
