Family Carer Course in Narre Warren

Alzheimer's Australia Vic invites you to a free workshop in Hawthorn to help you understand what the diagnosis means, how the diagnosis is made and how Mild Cognitive Impairment differs from normal ageing and dementia.  These sessions will be delivered by Research Fellow: Dr Maree Farrow.

The caring role: a compassionate approach

You are invited to join a workshop run by Alzheimer's Australia Vic for family carers who are ready to reflect on their new role and relationship with their loved one with dementia and who can participate in a longer (4 week) group program.  Sessions run 10.00am-1.00pm. 

While this program includes information about dementia, changes and communication it also incorporates the loss and grief associated with becoming a carer of a loved one with dementia.  We talk about how to create an environment to facilitate the caring role as well as maintaining and getting support as a carer.

Dealing with Tricky Situations forum in Rosebud

The Peninsula Dementia Action Group is presenting a public forum on June 6 for anyone who is caring for a person with dementia.
It will be held at Southern Peninsula Community Care in Rosebud between 1.00pm and 3.00pm.  Specifically, the forum will focus on "dealing with tricky situations".

The Creative Ways to Care course is a seven session education and training program for family carers of people with dementia. This course will be held at Narre Warren and is repeated throughout the year at other locations.  It runs during mornings, once a week over seven weeks and will provide you comprehensive strategies for improving the quality of everyday life for both you and the person you care for.
