Creative Ways to Care - strategies for carers of people living with dementia

This seven session education program gives carers the opportunity to experience and learn a range of diversional strategies to assist them to respond to changing behaviours in an imaginative and inspiring way.  

Health professionals are invited to contact us for materials to facilitate the program.  Prospective facilitators do not need expertise in diversional strategies, however we recommend you have experience in group work and an understanding of the issues faced by carers of people living with dementia.

The comprehensive training package is available for purchase for AUD$990 and contains step-by-step instructions and all materials for you present the program in your local community, including: 

Facilitator’s orientation guide with detailed background information, supplementary and culturally-specific resources.

Facilitator’s workshop manuals provide a step-by-step guide for planning and delivering each workshop.

DVD with voiceovers in seven languages featuring professionals and carers discussing strategies, how they used them and their benefits.

Facilitator’s powerpoint presentation to orient participants to each session. 

Participant workbooks containing all print-ready resources and handouts in English plus translated plain language summaries in Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian and Vietnamese.
