The Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre Southern Region supports carers from diverse backgrounds. 

We have access to interpreters over the phone, through our association with Alfred Health and through specialist interpreter and translation agencies.

Families and friends play vital roles in supporting people with serious mental illness. They are important partners with mental health services in improving the health and wellbeing of the people for whom they care.  You may be a family member or friend providing support and assistance to your friend or relative, or you may just be concerned about the welfare of your friend and interested in finding out more about what assistance is avaliable. Supporting someone at risk of suicide or experiencing mental illness:
SANE Australia runs a national mental illness information and referral helpline, 9‐5 weekdays 1300 18 SANE (7263) and the website contains a range of information and resources about mental health issues and suicide prevention.  SANE provides a range of fact sheets for CALD communities, including:
