The Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre Southern Region provides 24 hour carer support and access to planned and urgent respite, for carers young and old living in the southern region of Melbourne.

We also provide information about local and regional aged, dementia, disability, mental health and community care services to the general public and health and community professionals. 

Our Vision

Our Mission

 We work towards a well coordinated service system that achieves quality outcomes for people in caring relationships. We aim to promote choice, improve quality of life and enhance carer wellbeing.

Our activities include:

  • Raising the profile of carers
  • Identifying, assessing and meeting the needs of carers, and
  • Developing responsive, timely and effective service options.

Our Aims

  • To promote the needs and choices of people with care responsibilities
  • To encourage carers to identify themselves as carers and acknowledge their needs
  • To increase the community’s awareness of the role and contribution of carers
  • To achieve quality choices and outcomes for all people seeking support and respite care
  • To promote a community care ethic and care as a social responsibility, and
  • To bring the needs, views and concerns of carers to the attention of Government and other policy makers.
